Package Adventures in Darién

One day, the future owner stopped on the top of a hill near Meteti village in Darién. After a long moment of silence, he chose this magical place. The traditional houses of the Wounaan dominate the valley and the natural reserve. This small lodge is the gateway to the Gulf of San Miguel and the starting point for multiple excursions and activities.

Day 1: Panama city-La Palma

Transfer from your hotel in Panama City to the national airport; take the flight to La Palma (only on Monday and Friday). Transfer by boat from La Palma to Puerto Quimba, and then to Filo del Tallo Lodge near Meteti. This will be followed by lunch and trekking or horse riding. After dinner, stay overnight at the Filo del Tallo Lodge.



Day 2: Wounaan indigenous community

Enjoy a home-made breakfast served at the lodge. Then, take the 4X4 terrain and later, we will board the piragua (dug-out canoes) to the Wounaan Village of Boca de Lara. The Wounaan are very curious about us, just as we are about them, and will tend to hang around to observe and see the newcomers.

In the early afternoon, you can try your luck at fishing like the locals. Traditional lunch will be served at the lodge. Later, you will discover the wonders of the mangroves by travelling in the piraguas. After dinner, stay the night at the Filo del Tallo Lodge.


Day 3: Kayak on the Chucunaque River

After breakfast, you will leave the village to reach the Chucunaque River, one of the largest in Panama. Discover the secrets of the Rio and enjoy seeing animals for a full day on your kayak. Dinner and night stay will be at the Filo del Tallo Lodge.

Day 4: Darién/Panama City

We explore the Filo del Tallo, a hydro graphic reserve, very rich in flora and fauna. In the early afternoon, you will have lunch at a local "colonos" farm and begin your return trip to Panama City.
