Herman Bern, the owner of the Bern Hotels Group, is a Panamanian investor with wide experience in tourism and real estate. Continuing to fulfill his goal of turning Panama into a major tourist destination of Central America, he has built the InterContinental Hotel Playa Bonita in 2006 aiming at upscale clientele wishing to be able to go to the beach close to Panama City but not sacrifice high quality and premium service.

Erik Van Derkaaj, the General Manager from the Netherlands, brings extensive experience from his time at luxury hotels in Europe and is constantly improving his property to ensure guests are always happy and being given the highest levels of service excellence.
