Nestled on a private beach and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, the InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort and Spa is an enchanting enclave of infinity pools, cascades and exotic gardens. The unique architecture of the hotel is inspired by a fusion of Mediterranean, Spanish, Colonial and Panamanian styles surrounded by immaculate and elegantly trimmed landscaping - a perfect escape to a beachfront paradise far enough from Panama City to feel remote but close enough to easily have dinner in the city or visit the many nearby attractions such as the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal or the pristine nature of Gamboa.

The resort offers everything you need onsite - you can get pampered in the spa, workout overlooking the beach, swim in the seaside infinity pool, kayak to a hidden cove, practice your golf skills at their driving range and putting greens, play tennis and beach volleyball or savor the many culinary delights at their four dining options. Daybeds are scattered across the grounds and hammocks hang between palm trees on the mile-long stretch of beach.

Catering to all tastes, there is a dining experience for everyone: the Plantation Restaurant and Café offers international cuisine with casual dining all day, the ‘Sushi Bar' just off the lobby for a Japanese treat, the ‘Pelican Grill' on the beach and surrounded by infinity pools serves up tasty grilled seafood, international and Panamanian dishes and, finally, the ‘Lighthouse Restaurant' provides formal dining with a large wine selection and a nightly chef's specialty.

For drinks, the ‘Pool Bar' and ‘Lobby Bar' will quench your thirst or for those staying up late, the ‘Coconut Lounge' is the place to come dance the night away with upbeat music and cocktails. Of course, you can always take advantage of the 24-hour in-room dining to enjoy an intimate candle lit dinner from the privacy of your balcony listening to the waves crashing on the beach and the gazing at the sea beyond.

The ‘Bonita del Mar Spa' is an Indian inspired spa with clear Buddhist and Hindu influences from the décor and treatments to the therapist's "Namaste" greetings. With 10,000 sq. ft., the spa offers a sauna, Jacuzzi, private treatment rooms, Turkish baths and meditation rooms as well as providing countless luxurious treatments to sooth your soul and rejuvenates your body - from indoor or outdoor massages, seaweed wraps and their signature chocolate escape treatment to a full beauty salon with facials and manicures.

For activities, in addition to the ones mentioned above, the resort has 5 free-form pools of various sizes and depths plus an array of non-motorized water sports, tennis and, for the more adventurous, their "Survivor" Punta Bruja hiking trail challenge. Kids are well looked after with a completely equipped games room, nursery and baby-sitting services (provided at an extra fee).

• Late check-out is upon request and depends on room's availability.
• Free of charge for late check-out up to 3.00 pm .

Policy on children staying with parents:

• Free of charge for children who are 10 years of age or younger sharing a room with 2 paying adults. Breakfast for children is not included.
• Maximum occupancy: 2 to 4 adults and 2 children.
  

Cancellation Policy:

• For cancellations made more than 5 days in advance, there will be no forfeiture amount.
• Cancellations made within 5 days of arrival (after 5 PM, UTC-5) will be charged one night's stay.
